July 2012

I love my blog book I got from my old blog. I am so excited to have a record of these busy years! Problem is there is no time to write posts! I am going to try to at least do a monthly update on what has been happening with the photo's I have taken on my phone (yes I am married to a photographer but if I wait for good photo's I will be waiting forerver!). So what's been happening at the Johnson house in July?....
The start of July was the school holidays. We started the first week with everyone except Jay getting the vomit bug. By the time we all got it one week had passed. The next week was spent trying to get the house back in order and to try and enjoy the holidays. Leanne and I took the kids to a new park about 20 minutes away. It had some pretty good things to play on but wasn't great for little ones. Here is Zeke on the flying fox (there were 2 big ones and 1 little one) looked like fun and I would have loved a turn but I had Ezaria in the ergo.

Poor Ewan was injured in the part that hurts the most! His face says it all.
Essence enjoyed playing in the sand
the whole park was covered in sand so she had lots to play in
Bella finally agreed to have a turn on the smaller flying fox. She is pretty cautious and didn't want to at all but Leanne helped her and she had fun
Isaac came along for the day too
Lizard park it was called and had all of these wooden lizards in it
and really cool tyre swings that could fit a few people on them

the girls enjoying being pushed by Leanne
they had a row of these digging machines too
cooking some yummy sausages on the bbq for lunch
with some help from the bigger kids who were 'starving' by then
There was a nice walking track too which we went on but unfortunately Zari wasn't too impressed by
there were lots of picnic tables and quite a few seperate shelters that would be great to have a party under. The only thing was that there was no grass in that area so there was nowhere for a crawling baby to play
 water pumps on the bridge
quite a group of us just from our two families (two of Leannes were missing plus I had Isaac)
Ezaria finally being able to crawl around on some grass that we sat on after our walk
back home the younger ones got to do some painting on some canvases
and Elizabella and Essence thought that they would paint on some makeup...
 on themselves....
 with acrylic paint!
Ezaria enjoying her bath, clean babies are the best!
This month Ezaria learnt to climb up onto chairs (if they aren't too high)
I braided essences hair for the first time. Her hair is so incredibly fine!
she stood there the whole time and didn't move

she loves her Dora sunglasses and went through a stage of needing to take them everywhere to wear in case the sun got in her eyes!
Bella also got her hair in a braid but wasn't as impressed by getting a photo haha but I took one anyway
We went to the local park with Hayley and her two children, Ellie and Noah. Hayley and I took turns at jogging a couple of laps around the park to get some exercise in. We then had sushi for lunch back at  my house.
That night I braided my own hair for the first time ever just to match the girls
I can't resist taking photo's of this little cutie
The Johnson girls with our matching braids (besides Zari), once again Bella is impressed
We went our for dinner as a family. the food was yum and the kids all did pretty good. Everyone ate all their food (not usually a common thing here)

I took the kids (all but Ethan and Zeke as they were working with Jay) to do the walk around the lakes. As this was where the rowing was at the 2000 olympics the boys (including Isaac) pretended that they were getting medals
Isaac - Gold, Elijah - Silver and Ewan for Bronze
Ezaria got this banana teething toothbrush which she enjoys chewing on
At the end of the holidays we had a huge cooking day and the kids all helped to decorate some cakes (I made over 100 biscuits, 2 cakes, about 50 cupcakes and 2 slices, all of this was cut up and wrapped and put in the freezer for school recesses)
 Esse's creation
 Ewan
Isaac (who took some home for his recesses)
 Elijah
 and Bella.
Ezaria was crawling around and found some little chocolates that had been dropped onto the floor so she had her first try of chocolate (yes she loved it).
Elijah found these two big strawberries in our garden. It was a total surprise as we didn't know that there was any. They were so yummy too!
We went to Oberon to celebrate Zeph's first birthday. The boys were very excited to have Jay join us. First stop was the cafe for dinner.
An injoke with the boys and their Dad. Love Elijahs face - busted (they wont do that in front of me only with Jay!)

Zari looks as though she is in pain here but really Zeke is a great big brother to her and she loves him lots

All the Johnson boys...of course I can't get a normal photo

 Zari scooting around
It was so cold out at the farm. Luckily the fire keeps the shed nice and warm.

This rag towel was my mums grandma's and she still has a bit of it. She remembers it from when she was a child growing up.
 Playing on the beds
Zari playing with the musical instruments. Zephs party was later that day and was so good. Donna had done an amazing robot theme. I didn't take any pictures with my phone but when I get some off Jay I will add them.
 Ezaria's favourite toy.
We had our first visit to costco. All of their trolleys have two seats in them. Zari ended up in the sling and Bella and Esse ended up sitting in there.
Pooe Elijah had just had a tooth taken out but got the day off school. He enjoyed being the only older boy for the day and got some yummy food.
Bath time with four in the bath. No room for anyone else!
Bella has been skateboarding but pretending it is a surfboard so she can act our her mermaid barbie movie. It's actually really cute. She sings over and over the same thing while wriggling around.
 Miss Essence ready for playgroup
 And Miss Elizabella
cuddles (Bella was in her no photo mood again)
 heping their baby sister walk
July's Saturdays were spent watching/playing football. We were lucky enough to have it at Emu so we could walk there a few times.
I got to spend a night up at Mum and Dad's house while they were away with some of my school friends (and Zari). It was lots of fun to remeber all of our good times we had growing up. We also went out for dinner first. Leticia and Kelly are both pregnant again!
A friend from America (thanks Catherine) sent me over some gravy packets to make traditional sausages with biscuits and gravy. The kids weren't too sure about eating scones with dinner but it was nice. We had Mum over as well.
The school sports carnival was on. Here Elijah is with two of his friends. Ezekiel came first in long jump and made it to zone and Ethan made it also. Elijah was so close!
It was actually freezing cold and dark until about an hour before it finished and then the sun finally came out.
Ezaria took her first steps this month.
I started letting her play outside and found this! She had climbed onto the table and tried to get into the cubby house via the window.  Cheeky girl.
Ethan has started food tech this semester and offered to make sausage rolls for dinner.
 They were yummy too.
Sickness has been so bad this month. Poor little Esse was sick and slept off a temperature.

Mum also ended up in hospital having more tests done on her heart. She ended up staying down here for a week which was nice.

The girls and I had a sleepover with Donna and her three little ones. It was pretty crazy there with 6 children 4 and under but it was nice to catch up. Bella and Mira stayed up talking until after 10pm!
The next day Ezaria took 5 steps to Jay.
Bella got her own school work to do to prepare her for school next year.
We started a reward chart for the four youngest. I am really trying to encourage Esse to go to sleep (and Bella) by herself without coming out. If they do they get a sticker. Once they collect a certain amount of stickers they get a small prize. The boys need to get ready in the morning without me nagging at them and then they get a sticker. They can earn lunch orders. I've also started helper of the week and they get paid at the end on that week so they have 1 week on and 3 weeks off. Hoping that will work well. The other system was too hard for some people to follow.
